Learn to ride a horse in Leesville
Come to Leesville and experience a classic pastime of the American South! No, we’re not talking about drinking sweet tea or listening to country music (although we sure do love doing those things as well)! We’re of course talking about good old-fashioned horseback riding. Leesville and the surrounding Vernon Parish has lots of places where you can learn to ride and connect with one of the longest-domesticated animals in history. Check out some local places that offer horseback riding in and near Leesville:

Harmony Equestrian Services

Harmony Equestrian Services is located right in Leesville and offers riding classes as well as other fun horse-related activities events. Lessons focus not just on riding but also on grooming, ground work, and general care and management of horses. They teach both Western and English-style riding and cater to students of all ages and experience levels.

Swany Creek Ranch

Swany Creek Ranch is located in Vernon Parish just 15 minutes outside of Leesville. The ranch offers lots of different kinds of riding lessons. Their basic horsemanship lessons are great for all skill levels from beginners to experienced riders, cover all the fundamentals of riding and horse care and ownership, and are offered in English and Western styles. Swany Creek Ranch also offers barrel racing classes, dressage, and beginner hunter/jumper lessons. If you’ve got little ones, bring them along for PeeWee pony rides, offered for kids 6 years old and under. Bonus: Swany Creek Ranch also does paintball, so you can spend a whole day of fun at the ranch. Please note all rides and lessons at Swany Creek Ranch are by reservation only, so be sure to get in touch before planning your trip.
What better way to experience Leesville, Vernon Parish, and Louisiana in general than to get on a horse and gallop through a field. If you’re a little sore after your first few horseback rides (we understand!), just hop in our hot tub for a little muscle relief and relaxation. We guarantee you’ll be ready to hop back on the horse the next day and let out a yee-haw for all to hear!
